All life is precious!

"This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him."
 Deuteronomy 30:15-16

We are all entrusted to defend the most vulnerable and uphold the dignity of human life. Please take the time to check the resources available for you on this page so you can learn how to defend the sanctity of life.

Senate Bill 1209 in Massachusetts

he state of Massachusetts is facing very dangerous bill. You can find here Cardinal Sean O'Malley's statement on the Bill; it is brilliant and to the point. The Cardinal brilliantly summarizes the key aspects of the Bill and why its ramifications are far more dangerous than Roe v Wad .

You can take action against this bill by signing the petition here.
Say NO to S.1209, the Passive Infanticide Bill in MA. S.1209 legalizes infanticide. It is so extreme that it is opposed by citizens all across the political divide.
Say NO to extremism and state-sponsored irresponsibility towards our most vulnerable citizens. Sign the petition now and contact your legislator to oppose S.1209. Read a full analysis of this deadly bill here.

You can find here a fact sheet from the Massachusetts Citizens for Life on the three key dangerous aspects of this Bill, priests may  use this as an insert in their bulletin, instead of the Cardinal's statement. This is much briefer than the Cardinal's statement and very to the point.

You can find here a list of names and phone numbers of the members of the Joint Committee on Public Health who will hear the Bill in the Senate some time next month , supposedly June 12. These are the people who will either push the Bill through or reject it.
NB: the chair of the Committee, Joanne Comerford, is a major sponsor of Planned Parenthood, who is 100% behind this Bill. We need to take action and not be silent since we're up against a big enemy. Please contact them to express your opposition for this bill.

Sister Natalie Sr. Natalie Sayde Salameh, MSCL wrote an article on their blog about this bill and it can be accessed here.

Why be pro-life?

Watch these inspiring videos to discover why we are called to protect and defend the unborn

What to Do When a Friend is Considering Abortion

The USCCB website provides four steps of the L.O.V.E approach that can be very helpful  :Listen and Learn, Open Options, Vision and Value, and Extend and Empower.

Roe v. Wade
Roe v. Wade is the 1973 Supreme Court case which struck down existing state laws nationwide that had heretofore made abortion illegal. Roe v. Wade effectively legalized abortion throughout a woman’s 9 month’s of pregnancy. While the legal validity of Roe v. Wade has always been considered questionable by those in defense of the sacredness of human life, in recent years this case has come under considerable scrutiny and criticism from the general public and influential media outlets.

The USCCB developed the “Second Look” national education campaign, providing facts vs. myths about the Supreme Court decisions that legalized abortion nationwide, to members of Congress, the media, and other key public interest groups.

Abortion & African Americans
Abortion has, in particular, devastated black and African-American communities across the United States. Among this population, abortion is the leading cause of death. In New York City, over 50% of pregnancies in these communities are terminated. Below is a video of Catherine Davis, Founder of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition speaing about abortion among their own community.

Abortion & Breast Cancer
Scientific research indicates a link between Abortion and Breast Cancer. Dr. Chris Kahlenborn documents the effect that abortion has on breast cancer, as well as uterine, cervical, liver, and other cancers, and even the transmission of AIDS in his book, Breast Cancer, Its Link to Abortion and the Birth Control Pill.

Jenn Giroux tells about this connection in her article, Race for the Truth About the Susan G. Komen Foundation: Is Abortion and Hormonal Contraception a Prescription for Breast Cancer?
Facts: Baby's Development
Science for Unborn Human Life contains hundreds of easily accessible facts about the rapid development of the unborn child’s body, movement, sensations (including pain) and learning. Each fact is accompanied by a reference to the medical or scientific literature. SFUHL focuses on the first eight weeks after conception, the period when most abortions are performed. It is a good complement to the striking ultrasound images that are usually taken much later in gestation. The accuracy of the information is attested to by the comments of eight OBGYNs, whose comments are posted at the top of the home page.
Truth Booth: A window to the womb offers DVDs and displays of 3D and 4D ultrasound images, providing an educational experience for all age groups on the development of a child in the womb.
